Phone addicts, rejoice!
We might hate to admit it sometimes, but the majority of us are completely attached to our mobile phones. Now, we never have to miss that all-important email from work (because that’s the main reason we need constant access to the Internet, right? It has nothing to do with not being able to constantly check our social media feeds, obviously), as TfL has now made free Wi-Fi available at another 100 Tube stations.
Wi-Fi at Almost Every Station on The Tube Network
With these additional installations, it means that 250 out of 270 Tube stations are now connected. The service can reach up to 100MB of speed. The Wi-Fi connection provides free travel information—such as live updates—to any person who connects via Virgin Media’s Wi-Fi portal. If you’re a customer of Virgin Media, EE, Orange, T-Mobile, Three, Vodafone or O2, you can also access the rest of the Internet for free. If you’re on another network, don’t worry: you can purchase a daily, weekly or monthly Virgin Media Wi-Fi Pass to connect. Stations offering Wi-Fi all display the Wi-Fi Zone logo.
Said Gregor McNeil of Virgin Media: “By bringing connectivity to more people where and when they need it, out of their homes, we are helping Londoners to stay connected and for them to do all the stuff they love—post, tweet, watch and share—whilst on the move.”
