Hackett

hackettSQIf the label’s supremely stylish flash mobs last Friday didn’t persuade you to check out Hackett’s new shop on London’s Regent Street over the weekend, we suggest you bump it to the top of your to-do list. Not only is the gargantuan 8,934 square feet store the largest the label has ever opened, but it’s also houses a particularly refined bar and every menswear item Hackett has to offer.

At street level you’ll find the casual area packed full of winter-friendly outerwear, warm knits and (sadly not for sale) taxidermy lifted from the English countryside, including foxes, deer and a hawk or two flying overhead. However, to really immerse yourself in the true Hackett lifestyle take the wrought iron staircase up a floor.

When you hit the first storey, to your right you’ll find the label’s first dedicated accessories room, stocked with leather goods (including an exclusive luggage collaboration with Globe Trotter) and footwear, staffed by an assistant who’ll shine your current pair as you shop for the next. Another first which is coming to this room soon: a handpicked selection of vintage Paul Newman Daytona Rolexes (starting price: £40,000).

Head left and you’ll enter the sleek, Sixties-style suiting room which stocks tailoring from every range (from mainline to the super-premium Mayfair) as well as offering a made-to-measure and bespoke service. Here is where you’ll also find Hackett’s excellent, store-specific collaboration with British wool merchants Fox Brothers & Co., which includes bags, scarves and scented candles. However, before you hit that you’ll walk through the glossy Beefeater 24 gin bar – complete with flannel covered stools, pinstripe sofas and smartphone charging facilities – which will serve you a gin and tonic as you shop. Gentlemen, you know where to find us.

Hackett is now open at 193-197 Mutual House, Regent Street, London, W1.
