Five Songs to Listen to Before a Job Interview

happyman300

If there’s one activity most people do before an interview, it’s listening to music. We all have varied tastes, but there are some songs that are unbeatable regardless of your personal preference. Every song can be interpreted however you like, so we’ve compiled a list of five songs that you should now pretend are speaking to you about an upcoming interview, some even provide handy tips that may give you the one-up over everyone else.
You’ll probably want to load up your streaming service of choice, things are about to get serious.

Survivor – Eye Of The Tigersurvivor300

You’ve got to start strong and what better than a song known by all.

The whole premise of the Eye Of The Tiger is to get pumped up and tackle every challenge with that comes your way, and as we know, any song used in Rocky, has to be a good motivation boost. As soon as you enter the interview room, rise up to the challenge of your rivals and beat them to the role, you’re better than them.

The O’JaysFor the Love of Money

You’re after a job because you’re quite blunt about things, you want the money and the salary being offered will pay for a new car. This absolute classic by The O’Jays would fit your blunt personality, with the first five lyrics being, ‘Money, money, money, moooney, mooneeey’. Now, I don’t know how they came up with such deep lyrics, but such words certainly encourage a love for money. It even comes with an inspirational message at the end to ‘not let money ruin you’, what more could you want?

The ProdigyFirestarter

Let’s be clear from the start, do not go to your job interview with the sole intention of being a fire starter, that would be counterproductive and result in an unneeded court date. Now we’ve got that clear, this is quite possibly one of the best motivational songs ever made, there is no reason why you can’t apply it to your job interview, just make sure you don’t too get carried away.

Justin Timberlake, JAY Z Suit & Tie

If you’re not a fan of Justin Timberlake, try Dizzee Rascal – Fix up, Look sharp, same moral.

Not sure what to wear to your job interview? Well, thankfully Justin Timberlake wrote a song with you in mind. ‘As long as you got your suit and tie, you’re gonna get that job tonight’, are not the lyrics, but they should be. Ladies, you can still relate to this song by assuming Justin is talking about your regular interview attire, the message remains.

It’s worth adding Timberlake is determined to flog the colour scheme of black and white, while this is a great combination, there’s no harm in adding a bit of colour to your interview wears; he may be the man of all men, but JT doesn’t know everything.

lose yourself300Eminem – Lose Yourself

It’s hard not to know this song and it has to be one of Eminem’s best. Lose Yourself encourages us to follow our dreams and never give up. Show off your highest potential and get recognised for being awesome.

You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow

Don’t let anything get in the way of being successful, go to the interview with nothing to lose and everything to gain – Do that and you’ll come out having gained everything you ever wanted.

Listen to these five songs before an interview and you’ll at least go into it feeling positive, the outcome is up to you, but at least you didn’t spend the hours leading up to the big moment worrying about how you’ll perform. Throw some shapes before every interview and your job interview success rate will grow alongside your dance moves.
