Belts are perhaps not one of those purchases you’d usually spend much time pondering over – a glance at the style, perhaps a quick test on the waist and then you’re looking for the till. However, British accessories-maker Byrne is attempting to change that by expanding your options on the often-overlooked accessory.
Founded by Jay Swanborough, who established the brand following a string of unsuccessful attempts to replace the quality of his favourite belt, the line is characterised by its organically sourced leather and attention to craftsmanship.
Finished with D-buckles and T-bars in both silver and gold, each has been cut, sewn and polished by hand and finished with a hardy wax-job that will prevent daily wear and tear. Available in a mix of brogue-friendly browns, they’re versatile enough to be paired-up with suit trousers, dark denim and frankly anything with the loops still attached.
Byrne was born out of ‘favourites’. A favourite belt or scarf, a t-shirt you always go to; that thing you’d happily wear every day if you could. Perfect in form and function, nothing to do with that thing called fashion but everything to do with your own look and feel. It’s well-worn; it’s notched up a few stories along the way.
