the bull and last pub logoThe Bull and Last is a historic pub situated in a 19th-century coaching inn building within North West London, near Hampstead Heath.

Founded by directors Freddie Fleming, Ollie Pudney and Joe Swiers back in 2008, The Bull and Last pub has been given a new lease of life by a young and passionate team for over seven years now, providing outstanding seasonal food and great service while retaining a traditional English pub atmosphere.

The Bull and Last’s traditional pub food is produced at the optimum level of gastronomic perfection. 

The downstairs bar area is a laid back rustic space that welcomes diners and drinkers alike, with various independent real ales available on our hand-pulls and bar snacks on offer throughout the day.

The dining room upstairs offers a more restaurant-style environment and is lovely for romantic meals and family gatherings. They love a party at The Bull & Last, and they’re rather good at throwing them! The Bull and Last’s  ‘Stag Room’ is the perfect space for gatherings of up to 16 people. You need to order in advance from their three courses monthly set menu and on a grander scale, they regularly hire out the whole of the upstairs space, and occasionally the entire pub, for weddings, birthdays and Christmas parties. Very welcome are big groups, children (high chairs are available for younger children on both floors) and dogs, who will be provided with marrow bones and pig’s ear.Pub "The Bull and Last", Highgate

Additionally, instead of disguising and prettifying the meals with posh names, the ingredients are proudly displayed in ‘normal’ English, as are the ingredient provenances with a list of their suppliers showcased for all to see. It’s honest, comfort food taken to the extreme, showing the utmost respect for ‘real’ meals.

Listed by the Telegraph as one of the top pubs in the country for Sunday lunch, The Bull and Last’s big portions of food are cooked to perfection. This is ordinary food, cooked to taste extraordinary. Pigs cheek, Roast Cornish Cod, Confit Duck Leg – each are a highlight.

The desserts are just as luxurious. Everyday puddings that become transformed to supremacy. The ice-creams are all home-made and suspend you right in the centre of heaven with just one spoonful. Ice-cream flavours range from Ferrero Rocher to Kernal Stout. The dessert menu should never be dismissed at The Bull and Last.

As well as good food, it offers an extensive variety of draught ales, the perfect accompaniment to any pub meal, while there are also fairly priced wines and bloody-good bloody Marys.
