Momo is a glamorous Moroccan restaurant set in the opulent area of Mayfair. The restaurant is seductive, sexy, and alluring with a gorgeous Marrakech theme offering a modern and elegant edge with a cosy and romantic ambience.
The food, however, was faultless, exotic flavours seamlessly executed, incorporating their own interpretation as well as keeping the tradition alive.
Particular favourites include the Pigeon Pasitlla – a fine pastry filled with sweet and spiced wood pigeon & almond, as well as the Couscous Mechoui for two – slow charcoal whole roasted lamb shoulder with authentic spices and ras el hanour spiked fig. Both offer a beautiful combination of flavours and have been carefully crafted to produce delicious and delicate meals. The main attraction has to be the couscous – silky fine grains served with vegetables in a light cumin-scented broth, with tender, juicy chicken, plump golden raisins, chickpeas and harissa – all served separately so you can mix them as you please. This is what Momo is best known for, and it’s clear to see why.
Not only does Momo offer dinner, but a traditionally styled Moroccan cafe which offers drinks and afternoon tea sits next door. Meanwhile, you can enjoy a mint tea and flavoured shisha outside on the terrace. There is also a basement bar which includes a highly talked about the music program. The atmosphere is in total keeping with North Africa, in transports you so far away that you wouldn’t ever think for a second that you are slap bang in the middle of the hustle and bustle of central London.
Momo’s dining experience motto “A tribute to the 5 senses of our guests” is completely justified, the food and overall ambience are simply outstanding.
