The food here is outstanding. Simple, seasonal ingredients cooked in an extraordinary and imaginative way. All the dishes are beautifully presented. Chef Franceso Mazzei’s creations may be small on size, but they are big on flavour. Authetic Italian cooking using a high degree of effort to create a dish that is pure art.
If you’re struggling on what to go for, the wood-roased aubergine and burrata is to die for. For main, the rabbit stew is faultless; the sweetness of the meat perfectly combines with balsamic sourness to give it that unique, delicious edge. The food is superb, and has all the taste of Southern Italy compacted into every single plate. Desseert-wise, the robiola paglierina with lambrusco jelly is simply perfect. The five-course tasting menu (£60) is an ideal way to sample Mazzei’s bold but precise Calabrian cuisine.
The wine list is extensive and varied, while the outcome is delicious and complements your Italian food seamlessly.
The service is unintusive yet accommodating and friendly. You cannot love this place. It’s got everything you want from a good restaurant, and then some.
