Little Social – Bringing the Parisian streets to London

littlesocial300Bringing the Parisian streets to central London, Little Social offers a dining experience perfect for lunch with a client or an evening seducing your partner.

Established in 2013, Little Social is a Parisian-themed bistro bringing everything you could want from Paris without having to worry about the different language and deciphering any menus. Designed with ‘ox-blood banquettes and intimate dining booths, traditional hardwood chairs, and beautiful antique elm tables’, accompanied by cosy wall décor, you’d be forgiven for faking a French accent in an attempt to fit in.

Close to Regent’s Street, Little Social is so close to Pollen Street Social, you could actually have a conversation (albeit shouting) with your friend at the sister restaurant; this wouldn’t necessarily be productive nor pleasant for other guests, and you’d probably get thrown out, but the point remains that you could do it.

The head chef is Cary Docherty, who holds an impressive CV working for the likes of Little Social’s owner, the Michelin starred Jason Atherton and not to mention some guy called Gordon Ramsay – nope, never heard of him.

The food is heavenly, I went for the Aged Scottish beef burger, with bacon & cheese, caramelised onions, pickles and chips because I’m a typical Englishman, while my partner went for the Grilled Côte de Porc with charcuterie sauce & pomme purée. Both meals were outstanding and I made sure to sample (eat most of) the other half’s selection – Everything is presented like it should be in a gallery.

Little Social’s intimate booths are ideal for a business lunch or romantic meal with your partner, it depends how interesting you want to make things – you can even grab a corner table which can be curtained off from other diners, so if you have something suspicious to discuss or want to pull faces at each other without receiving confused glances, Little Social would fit your needs.

Pricing is reasonable, don’t expect to turn up with the usual £5 you’d save for a lunchtime Subway, expect to be paying for quality food. With that said, the £5 will almost get you a side of chips, so it’s still worth keeping in your pocket regardless.

As a generally well known restaurant, you’ll definitely want to book a reservation online before turning up at the doorstep – If I’m telling you that you’ll need to book, it’s quite a good indication that I’m not the only person that loves this place, so expect to return after your first visit.
