Description

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Art Sales Consultant to join our team and drive sales within our gallery. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for art, a strong background in investment sales, and the ability to engage with clients to help them find the perfect pieces. This role requires a blend of artistic knowledge, sales expertise, and excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with new and existing clients.

The position is based in Clapham Common, South London.  This position is purely a sales position, contacting art enquiries and selling over the phone.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Client Engagement

  • Proactively engage with clients, providing a tailored and informative experience.
  • Build long-term relationships with clients to foster repeat business and referrals.
  • Guide clients through the purchasing process, offering expert advice on artwork styles, artists, and investment potential.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets.

Art Knowledge & Advisory

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the gallery’s collection and the broader art market.
  • Educate clients on the history, significance, and value of artworks.
  • Stay up to date with current art trends, exhibitions, and artist profiles.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain a client database, ensuring accurate and detailed records.
  • Follow up with clients post-sale to nurture long-term relationships.
  • Anticipate client needs and provide personalised recommendations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in art sales or financial sales.
  • Strong knowledge of art history, contemporary art, and the art market.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with high-net-worth individuals and art collectors.
  • Goal-oriented with a proactive sales approach.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
